Not Impressed January 5, 2009

Saturday, Momma & the three ‘middle’ kids (Hannah, Ben & Sarah) were gone to the movies & I was getting Mercy down for her nap. She kept getting up & I had to make her get back in bed. When she had finally settled down I thought, I went downstairs or something– and came back to hear wails and cries coming from her bed. I tried to ignore it for a while since it’s not that unusual for her to fuss a while before going to sleep, but finally (I know, bad child training) I went in there & sat on the bed beside her. It didn’t take any urging to get her to say what was wrong. Between gasps of sorrow, she confessed: “I-(pitiful whine)-got up-(sucking in of breath)-and- the guys- Trey and Emma-(whine)- told me to go lay down-(sucking in of breath)- and I- (sad whine sucking in of breath gasp noise)- was not not very impressed!!!” This was followed by a fresh round of wailing & something that sounded like a big sister trying to hide a laugh & sound sympathetic.

Update February 26, 2008

Ok, I know I’m not really a very frequent “poster”. I have plenty to say- it floats around in my head- but I have not been able to just get it all ‘out of my hand’ (my left hand, Mr. Ron. I’m not ashamed of it). Some of it’s on my laptop, though, halfway written down, so check back soon (I can’t get online with that thing!).

Right now, here’s a quick update on the adoption-

Sometimes, it seems like we’re getting close to getting a baby… sometimes, it feels like that time will never arrive. Right now Momma is upstairs working on the “dear birth-mother letter”- this is the last this to do before sending in the application to LifeChoices. I asked Momma today when our final home-study visit is scheduled for and I thinkshe said Annice will be coming on Thursday. After that visit, she will be able to close out the home-study.

I’m searching through our photo’s for some good ones to put in the profile book. There are PLENTY of good pictures of Mercy, Dad & Ben. They’re just really photogenic. In all of the pic’s of Hannah or Annie they’re making poses & trying to look ‘dramatic’, Sarah Joy always has a ’smart-alec’ look, and as for everyone else we just don’t have that many pictures of them. So looks like we’ll have to take some pictures (we won’t have any problem with THAT.)

For three months this year, we were able to have both the blessing and the hardship of having my three beautiful cousins- Caitlyn, Stephen, and Isabelle- live with us.  This picture was taken wile Isabelle and Mercy were in their naps.

We were blessed to have a gathering of our friends & family at our  home in May, 2007. It was one of the ‘highlights’ of this past year- especially the large assortment of home-made Ice Cream!

The first time he went fishing (our pond, early 2007) Lee caught 4 beautiful fish!

We were blessed this year to have Lee enter our lives- our dear friends were the recipients of what has proved to be an immeasurable amount of blessing when they adopted four (now 5) year old Lee. Today is Lee’s gotcha day!

This picture was taken one afternoon wile Lelly was staying to play with Annie.  It was sooo hot, so Momma let them get in the swimming pool- on the front porch, because the sun was too hot anywhere else- and of course, have a summer snack!

I got out the washable paints in the landing room and let Mercy be creative. She was literally so happy that she would occasionally sit down on the floor and squeel at the top of her lungs. She also decorated herself, and ate a blue marker

I have been sick… December 28, 2007

Well… I have been sick… FOR A WHOLE WEEK!!!

Actually, it was six days… it felt like at least six months. This is the reason I have not worked on the blog lately.

 Today Momma and I went to the place in Pontotoc where we are opening our booth. I see that our booth is somewhat small, but I think that is actually a good thing: this way, there is less to fill up . No, really, I like making the overalls & helping Momma with the other products. I love being able to work at my house with the people I like most all around me. Where else could I have Hannah read “The Fellowship Of The Ring” to me while I work? Or have Mercy sit in my lap and ‘help’ (AKA, press every button and pull every lever she shouldn’t press or pull)? Anyway, next week I need to make Monkey overalls and a few pair Girl frogs to get ready for when we move into the booth.

We had a wonderful Christmas Celebration on Christmas eve… despite the fact that we were all sick. Momma gave Mercy one of those bags of 100 little plastic balls like a ball pit (we just put them in a Rubbermaid box) and she has been playing with it NON-STOP! She loves it.
